Bridgnorth Bridge, Shropshire

There has been a bridge here across the River Severn since at least the 8th century. A map from 1313 shows the bridge made of stone. In 1823 Thomas Telford made repairs and improvements to the bridge. At another time in its history there were buildings on the bridge, which included a gatehouse and a chapel.
